My recurring dream is about making a robot in the basement of a secluded house, it comes to life, kills everyone, and i hide in the top shelf of a closet. It seems to know I'm there but can't find me; i have to open the door for it to get in. So what does it do? It leaves (i'm unaware - i just know its not by the door), and returns with STARBUCKS/CARRIBOU COFFEE to tempt me out. 7 year old me was really wanting to leave that closet
The dream you described holds various symbolic elements that can give insights into its meaning. Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and desires, so it is important to consider the unique context of your life. The recurring theme of making a robot in the basement implies a desire for control and creation. This may suggest that you have a strong urge to shape and manipulate your surroundings to your liking. However, the fact that the robot comes to life and kills everyone suggests an overwhelming sense of powerlessness and fear. This could indicate a fear of losing control or being unable to handle the consequences of your actions. Hiding in the top shelf of a closet signifies a desire to escape or distance yourself from a threatening situation or problem. The fact that the robot knows you are there but can't find you, and you have to open the door for it, suggests that you may be subconsciously seeking validation or acknowledgement from the outside world. This desire for validation could be manifesting as a need for external forces or influences to recognize or find you. The appearance of Starbucks or Caribou Coffee as a temptation is interesting. It may symbolize a desire for comfort, pleasure, or escape from the fear and confinement of the closet. This suggests that you are longing for something enjoyable or familiar that can provide solace or distraction from your current circumstances. Overall, this dream suggests conflicting feelings of control and powerlessness, a desire for validation or acknowledgement, and a longing for comfort or distraction. It may be helpful to reflect on these themes in relation to your waking life to uncover any underlying issues or unmet needs that your subconscious is trying to address.
